There are a few bullet points that I make it a point to go over today. First off, a little bit about my video podcasting endeavor and what it is that I’m trying to do with it; “you don’t know until you try.” Second, just a little bit of personal info as my father goes into surgery for a tumor on one of his kidneys. Please keep him in your thoughts. That leads into the third part of today’s episode of a new and ongoing segment for the future, Working in Canada.

Why can’t I get listed in the iTunes Podcast Directory? Can I get some help here? My feed has already been submitted, and yet I see nothing.

Today’s music selections as played by permission:
Cedars – fleets
Lou Barlow – the ballad of daykitty
Grigor Iliev – winter story
Dick Prall – great admirer

My adventures of living in Vancouver continue with this short movie I made from my first Vancouver Canucks game at GM Place. It was an amazing experience that I will more than likely never forget. My hope is to just share some of these experiences with my subscribers as I go through discovering all the neat and wonderful things that this city has to offer.

This episode is mostly about tales from Vancouver. I share my experience at my first Canucks game last night at GM Place. It’s hard not to talk quite a bit of hockey today. Also, Rebecca and I made our way over to Vancouver Island to spend the weekend in Victoria this past weekend, so I take some time to share some of those experiences. There was so much to talk about and I know I forgot about half of what I wanted to share. With hope, I can share more in the future as I think of it. I think I yack a lot on this one, hence the length of today’s episode.

Thank you to each band listed below for granting me permission to play their music for you! Please visit their sites to learn more and purchase their music.

Soft – higher
Nada Surf – fruit fly
The Story Of – way too loud
Harvey Danger – cream and bastards rise

This is a lengthier project into the realms of video podcasting. For those from Vancouver, you might not find this to be too interesting. I took a walk downtown and then into Stanley Park with my digital camera with the intent of coming up with some video to edit together for this podcast. I’m still learning how to make this all work in nearly all aspects, but I think I’m getting the hang of things.

By all means, tips and rips on what I am doing and not doing are very much appreciated!

Today’s episode features a couple of plugs for other, Vancouver podcasts. I invite you to check out Dave Olsen’s Canucks Outsider podcast, especially if you are a Canucks hockey fan. Then a plug for the alt.cast, as Chris played a song from the Podsafe Music Network that I could just not resist.

I also take a look at the Sony BMG issue regarding their DRM root kit debacle. Here are the links that I mentioned:
ZDNet UK: “Sony offers to replace rootkit CDs”
Times Online (UK): “Sony drops anti-piracy tool that lets in hackers”
idiotabroad.com: “CD’s affected by the Sony-BMG spyware”

I also take a moment to do an update of how things have changed now that I live in Vancouver. I hope to make this an ongoing segment that I revisit from time to time. This isn’t just a whole new city for me, but it’s also a whole new country.

The music:
The Appleseed Cast – hello dearest love
Tapes N’ Tapes – insistor
Cagey House – 1000+
46bliss – the way you are

This is a jam, packed episode of the RadioZoom Podcast with music all found on the PodSafe Music Network. I took a dive into the directory and plucked out tracks by artists that I thought were pretty good to my liking. I tend to get picky about the stuff I listen to without being overly judgemental about techiniques and what not. I just have to like it. Plain and simple. Not too much of me talking about anything except the artists that I’m playing for you. And if you like any of them, check out their websites for lots more info.

Ester Drang – come back alive
Darcy Fray – murder in bombay
Delphinium Blue – boy seventeen
Paula Toledo – break it down
Anji Bee – love me leave me
Fresh Sunday – not a ghost

Another attempt at video podcasting heading your way. Sunday found Rebecca and I venturing out to New Westminster for some family gatherings, a small shopping excursion to Metrotown, and then made our way back home on the SkyTrain. On the way home, I made a series of short vids that I combined, threw some music underneath, and gave a little insight to the whole transit experience in and around the lower mainland. Nothing too spectacular, but I’m still learning. You have to remember, I’m an audio guy by trade.
